A little bit of Dubstep
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqGjBPvaOIA
Not every good song has to have a meaning behind it, or words. Take Dubstep for example. It's a bunch of beats put together by DJs. It's a genre of electronic dance music. Dubstep has overwhelming bass lines, drum patterns, and the occasional vocals. There is no deep message behind this music, but it is catchy, and great in the clubs!!! Music that is played nowadays in European clubs is mostly house music and dubstep. Why? Because they're songs you can dance to, they are catchy and they make you move to the beat. You can't help but tap your foot on the ground to these songs. They're good songs. Sure there are some parts in dubstep songs that isn't the best, but you can't always have your cake and eat too!

The Blue Danube

Johann Strauss II - The Blue Danube Waltz
A song does not need lyrics to have a message. Classical music is just amazing. It calms people down, it relaxes them, it makes them forget about their daily boring routines, and their worries in life. (Well at least it does all this for me!!!)

Imagine
Did anyone ever take into consideration the meaning behind the song "Imagine" by John Lennon? He wants the public to know that there shouldn't be any hatred. Everyone should be equal. "Imagine all the people, living life in peace." "No need for greed or hunger. A brotherhood of man. Imagine all the people, sharing all the world."
John wanted to tell the public that there's no need for war, for hunger, or for hatred. Everyone is equal and we should not discriminate. "You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one." Everyone has dreams. Dreams are free, they do not cost us anything. Nobody is stopping you from making your dreams reality. Stick with what you want, whether it is becoming a doctor, a teacher, firefighter, even if you want to become a well-known actor! Never let your dreams fade. Always be optimistic and follow them for one day, you shall reach your dreams.
All I Ever Wanted
"All I ever wanted" to me, is a song that is quite personal. The lyrics are something special. I believe that every song should have a nice message behind it that is true to the artist's heart. Most songs nowadays have no personal meaning, in my opinion. Such as "Imma be" by the Black Eyed Peas. The song doesn't have a meaning that the public can get inspired by. Take their lyrics, for example: "Imma be on the next level. Imma be rockin' over that bass treble. Imma be chillin' with my mutha mutha crew. Imma be makin' them all deals you wanna do." For those of you who don't understand this, it basically means that they're gonna have fun, and just chill. Anyways, there isn't a strong message behind the song. Now I'm not saying that each and every song HAS to have a strong meaning, but it would be better than 'let's chill and have fun'. Now I'm not hating on every rap song either. Take Eminem for example. His songs have meanings behind them. He raps to let out his emotions and to inspire the public. The song "When I'm Gone" has such a meaningful, strong, emotional message.
Verse I
Have you ever loved someone so much, you'd give an arm for?
Not the expression, no, literally give an arm for?
When they know they're your heart
And you know you were their armour
And you will destroy anyone who would try to harm her
But what happens when karma, turns right around and bites you?
And everything you stand for, turns on you to spite you?
What happens when you become the main source of her pain?
"Daddy look what I made", Dad's gotta go catch a plane
"Daddy where's Mommy? I can't find Mommy where is she?"
I don't know go play Hailie, baby, your Daddy's busy
Daddy's writing a song, this song ain't gonna write itself
I'll give you one underdog then you gotta swing by yourself
Then turn right around in that song and tell her you love her
And put hands on her mother, who's a spitting image of her
Not the expression, no, literally give an arm for?
When they know they're your heart
And you know you were their armour
And you will destroy anyone who would try to harm her
But what happens when karma, turns right around and bites you?
And everything you stand for, turns on you to spite you?
What happens when you become the main source of her pain?
"Daddy look what I made", Dad's gotta go catch a plane
"Daddy where's Mommy? I can't find Mommy where is she?"

I'll give you one underdog then you gotta swing by yourself
Then turn right around in that song and tell her you love her
And put hands on her mother, who's a spitting image of her
Chorus:
And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back
And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back...
In the first verse, Eminem talks about how he had someone that he'd protect, and would do anything to protect that person. And then the person turns around and stabs him in the back. It then talks about the fact that he works so hard that he hurts the people around him and he didn't even realize it.
Then in the chorus, Eminem talks about when he's not around anymore and that his family shouldn't stop living their life and be sad about that, but they should be living their life the way it is meant to be lived.
There's no point in living your life in anger, sadness, pessimism, or negativity. Those are days, hours, minutes, seconds that you'll never get back. Spend those days, hours, minutes, and seconds as best as you can. Forget about "YOLO" (You only live once). Don't take YOLO as going out, getting drunk and wasting your precious minutes. YOLO? yeah, well did you forget about "YODO"??? (You only die once). 'Carpe Diem' means "seize the day" that is how people in the renaissance period used to live. What happened? They failed as a society. Why should you think along the lines of YOLO, or Carpe Diem, when you should be in fact thinking about YODO? Remember that you only get one chance in life, and that chance should be used wisely.
"All I Ever Wanted"
All I ever wanted
Was to see you smiling
I know that I love you
Oh baby why don't you see?
All I ever wanted
Was to see you smiling
All I ever wanted
Was to make you mine
I know that I love you
Oh baby why don't you see
That all I ever wanted
Was you and me
All I ever wanted
Was to see you smiling
All I ever wanted
Was to make you mine
I know that I love you
Oh baby why don't you see
That all I ever wanted
Was you and me
I'm so alone
Here on my own
And I'm waiting for you to come
I want to be a part of you
Think of all the things we could do
And every day
You're in my head
I want to have you in my bed
You are the one
You're in my eyes
All I ever wanted in my life
All I ever wanted
Was to see you smiling
All I ever wanted
Was to make you mine
I know that I love you
Oh baby why don't you see
That all I ever wanted
Was you and me
Was to see you smiling
I know that I love you
Oh baby why don't you see?
All I ever wanted

All I ever wanted

I know that I love you

Does anyone remember this song? I'm going through a phase where this is the only thing I listen to!!! "All I ever wanted" By Basshunter. I remember when this song first came out a couple years ago and I liked it. I didn't love it though. I rediscovered this amazing song a couple days ago when a friend played it for me. Thank goodness he played it! ahhh, thanks man! <3
I love the beat, the lyrics, everything this song has to offer!

Introduction
Seeing as this is a music blog, I should probably talk about music. New and old. Well first I think I should introduce myself. I've been playing piano for 11 years, and I'm currently in grade 9 piano, working on passing the exam in January. I've been singing for 7 years and I'm in grade 6 voice. I'm a piano and vocal teacher and it's a lot of fun. Even though there are times when I think "Why is this kid taking lessons?!" But then I think of how privileged I am to have this job in the first place. At 14$ an hour, it's a pretty good job for a teen. I deal with people of all ages; from little kids to adults! To be in this type of job, you have to know a lot of songs. Wether it involves the Bee-Gees or Nicki Minagj, you have to know music. Not only do you have to know music, you have to have a passion for it.
